My name is Zahra Schütze-Moleifar, and I originally come from Iran. For some time now, I have been living in Cologne, Germany. The German language plays a central role in my life: Not only have I married a German man, but I also work as a German teacher here in Cologne. My academic background includes a bachelor's degree in German literature and a master's degree in German language didactics. My passion for the German language and literature has motivated me to continuously deepen my knowledge in this field.
Biography
My name is Zahra Schütze-Moleifar, and I originally come from Iran. For some time now, I have been living in Cologne, Germany. The German language plays a central role in my life: Not only have I married a German man, but I also work as a German teacher here in Cologne. My academic background includes a bachelor's degree in German literature and a master's degree in German language didactics. My passion for the German language and literature has motivated me to continuously deepen my knowledge in this field. Since 2015, I have been teaching German, gaining diverse experience in both group and individual settings. My professional journey has taken me from a part-time position at Allameh Tabataba'i University in Tehran to a full-time position as a German teacher and head of the Language Teaching Department at IH International House, Bayan-Salis Institute, in Tehran, where I worked from 2017 to 2021. Now, after my move to Cologne, I aim to continue my professional experience in specialized German language instruction. My goal is to support people who are new to Germany and want to settle in by helping them learn German. This step means not only continuing my passion for teaching but also deepening my connection to Germany and my new hometown, Cologne. I aspire to help my students discover the German language in all its facets and feel confident in everyday situations. With my academic and professional experience, I am confident that I can make a valuable contribution to language learning. I am filled with anticipation to continue my journey as a German teacher here in Cologne and contribute to promoting intercultural understanding.
About my class
In my lessons, I place great emphasis on creativity and practical relevance. All four language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—are integral parts of my teaching. My goal is to teach the German language in a practical context. All theoretical material is actively put into practice, and students are encouraged to apply what they have learned in real-life situations. For example, we will go to a restaurant together to order food and experience how to behave appropriately in such a situation. This allows students to directly apply what they have learned in class and improve their skills. Furthermore, I integrate activities such as shopping and doctor visits to simulate everyday life in German. The focus is not only on grammar but also on the practical application of the language. My goal is to ensure that students not only understand the rules of the language but are also able to speak German fluently in daily life. I take pride in offering lively and practice-oriented lessons that enable students to use the German language effectively and navigate various everyday situations with confidence. My lessons are not only informative but also entertaining and interactive to promote learning.
